Dear Reader,
There comes a time for every politically partisan person, where a sideways stride must be taken, where one may annoy one's fellows, upset balances, and despite future repercussions, stand for what is right. Now is a time where that duty is called upon.
The constitution of the United States is, in my oponion, among the most sacred documents on this planet. Its ingenuity, forsight, morality, and applicability to the creation of a great society is second to none. It has, in American life, been the unifier of the American people. It has seen the enrolement of blacks and women to vote, it has protected our sacred individual rights, and created limits for those in power.
We stand today, in a time of uncertainty, fear, and an uncharistically divided America, upon which an amendment, for the first time, will create a biting divide. It is sponsored and supported by people who have, or whos ancestors have, suffered the Holocaust, slavery, segregation, religous persecution in which many of the same arguments were being voiced.
Many argue that traditional marriage is being imposed on by people who are different. Can it not be said that the right to walk into a restaurant with all white people, or go to school with all white children, or serve in the army with all white people was opposed 50 years ago?
Where does the segregatory line end and conceived tradition begin? Is it with slavery, or color, or sex, or sexual preference? If there is anything that should be taken out of Jim Crowe it is that seperate, by its very definition, is not equal.
A stand must be taken. We cannot sign to our most sacred document something that is in its very heart descriminatory. We are Americans. We pride ourselves on our differences and our abillity to accept, respect, and live with others who are not the same as us.
Best Wishes, LeftyRighty

Dear Reader,
We Americans have come to the very difficult crossroad of how to deal with immigration and globalization in this new "flat world." Many argue that Mexicans and other foreign born individuals take the jobs away from willing Americans. While this is true, securing our borders will not solve this problem. Nor will deporting the millions of illegal of immigrants from our country. While it is conceivable that, with mass deportations, unemployment will plummet, it is only a very short term solution. The innovative ability of American business is second to none. If productivity remains where it is, higher wages will only result in greater automation. This is apparent through the lessening demand of laborers for check in/checkout purposes, (if you have been to a grocery store lately or airport you will have noticed the check your self in/out area). Technical help by phone is primarily based in India, and the previous factory jobs are disappearing to incredibly fast computer run assembly lines.
This is nothing to fear. A solution can be seen in one of America’s greatest shortcomings, education. While we are the best at educating our top 10%, we are abysmal at educating the bottom third. Now, considering that we are embracing globalization (which is a must), we have a responsibility to those who cannot find work. The primary goal for the United States should be to bring the average amount of college, competed by an American, from one year to two years.
This can be done in a very simple, and hopefully inexpensive way. Guarantee all banks, that funds used towards educating Americans will be paid back, and make sure this message gets to all Americans in high school or working in low-skilled labor positions. If you have your high school diploma, there will be a place for you in a 2 year or 4 year college. While the dropout rate will increase, and the measure may be costly, the potential benefit will be enormous.
Globalization has made it totally unfeasible to live in America unskilled. This is a fact we must embrace and act upon. While we reap the benefits of cheaper goods and services we must also help our fellows to find something to do in which they can feed their families. Education is the key, and while it is impossible to suggest that America should pay for it, it is perfectly reasonable for America to help out.
Regards and I hope everyone had a fabulous mother’s day, LeftyRighty

Reader,
It seems I left out some important elements of the abortion debate. Below are tidbits of information I left out. Democrats(liberals) get 90% of the black vote and 70% of the hispanic vote, typically. African American females are 3 times as likely to get an abortion as a white female. Latinas are 2.5 times as likely to get an abortion as a white female. 70% of whites are Republican. Do the math. A system that is pro-choice leads to far more Republicans. A system that is pro-life leads to far more Democrats. This change is delayed atleast 18 years, after the passing of the legilation, as that is the voting requirement. As Roe v. Wade was in 1973 meaning 33 years, there is a missing democratic block of about 15 years. (those aged 18-33)In which a huge number of democrats don't exist. I hope this makes my point easier to understand.

Reader,
The objective of this post is not to actually talk about the moral or political argument of abortion, but rather the absurdity of the two sides. In other words what happens in a pro life world vs. a pro choice world?
The pro choice world: Abortion exists as it does today. African Americans and Hispanics are three and two and half times as likely to get an abortion as a white women. The pro- choice era births become adults. The same legislation that was hailed as a major victory for the liberal cause, has changed the demographics of the country. The minorities that are needed to elect a democrat have simply vanished. Republicans gain control of the house, the senate, and the oval office. Crime is down because people who don't want children and would neglect them have abortions. We are a republican nation.
The pro life world: Abortion is illegal. Millions of unwanted children are born. Minorities now make up the majority of the United States population. Democrats virtually have total control of all forms of government. Poverty, crime, and unemployment are high. The wealthy who desire abortions can take an hour planeride to Canada or a 5 hour ride to Europe. They have the right to choose. The poor, of there are millions, do not.
Conclusion: The current allignment of the parties is absurd. Pro-Lifers guarentee future democrats being in power while pro-choicers guarentee the opposite. The current way abortion rights are dealt with simply guarentee political superiority of the parties once the potential fetuses have voting rights. If you simply want your party in office 25 years from now vote for the opposite kind of legislation that your party supports. Results are guarenteed.

Reader,
The current administration has recently begun criticizing the media for reporting bad news. Specifically, they want the American public to see all the good the happening in Iraq rather than the killing, torturing, secret prisons, bombings, massacres, civilian casualties etc.
Firstly, let me say that the moment I turn on the news and start hearing happy storries, its probably time to leave the United States. During the late 90s, when the economy was booming, crime was decreasing at an incredible rate, and unemployment was a virtual choice, we still saw bad news, every night, like clockwork. Why is this?
The answer to this question is that the nature of the media is that of a critic. We have freedom of the press because they are the ultimate tool in preventing dictatorship. The moment that is controlled is the same moment the founding principles of this country are lost. Forget the freedom of guns, it is the moment where information is censored, or only good news shown, that we loose our freedom.
So, let me conclude this blog by saying that if you ever hear only good news, then take your soma, and go to bed. Bill Clinton took the heat of the press when America was at its boom, so should W. when America seems so troubled. I will forever smile at the sight of bad news because only then will I smile at the promise that is America.
LeftyRighty P.S. for those of you who understand the soma refrence, congrats. For those of you who don't, read Huxley's "Brave New World."
